Aloha Friday #7

Welcome to Aloha Friday! It's a weekly blog event that started at An Island Life where I ask a simple question, answer it, then invite you to answer it also!

Mr. Eight comes home today! It's been over 4 months since he left, and in that time he missed two birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day and our anniversary. It was super hard doing school and taking care of the kids and the house and the cats on my own.

I have a whole new level of respect for single mothers going to school and working, and military spouses whose husbands go on frequent deployments, long or short.

I'm really looking forward to picking him up from the airport this afternoon! I plan on actually parking the car so we can go inside and wait, I just hope Miss M doesn't freak out when he goes to hug her!

I've never had a big emotional meeting at the airport before, like in the movie Love Actually. Have you?

My question for this week is: Do you have any memories of fun/sweet/emotional greetings at the airport?

Thanks for playing!

  2. Yay for Mr. Eight being home! Was the airport reunion all you had hoped it to be? ;)

When I was dating my hubby, I was living in Seattle and he was in San Francisco - every time I flew down there to visit him he always greeted me with flowers. It was before 9/11 when you could wait at the gate, so it was always nice seeing him standing there with a goofy grin holding flowers every time I exited the plane. :)
