Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Here's the classic of all classics: Rice Krispie Treats! So yummy and versatile, they even sell them at Seattle's Best and Starbucks. I hadn't made any in a while so I decided to go over my recipe and search around for tips on making them. I came up with a couple new things that you'll definitely have to try the next time you whip up a batch!

This recipe looks big, but believe me, it fits in a 13x9 pan, no problem. It's gonna make them nice and fat like the kind they sell at the coffee shops.

Ingredients

1 stick of butter (1/2 c.)
11.5 c. of Rice Krispies cereal
1 16 oz. bag of mini marshmallows
little bit of milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Spray a 13x9 pan with cooking spray. Important!

Melt the butter in a big pot on the stove. Keep the heat on low and let it melt super, super slow. Like agonizingly slow. You don't want it to get brown so stir it around a lot. Add the marshmallows and let them melt just as slowly. Stir, stir, stir. Add in the vanilla and stir some more!

Now this is something new that I had never tried before and was really happy with the result. When the marshmallows are just about ready pour in a couple capfuls of milk. Mix it in really well.

When the marshmallows have all melted add in the cereal a small amount at a time. Stir, mix and flip to make sure it gets nice and coated.

Squish your yummy treat mixture into the already sprayed pan. Spray a spatula or spoon with cooking spray to make it easier to push the gooiness around.

Cover and let sit, you can put them in the fridge if you like. Then devour!

Do yourself a favor and share with your neighbors ;) believe me, you don't want to have to work off all those calories by yourself! Share the burden!
