This is a favorite of my husband who is a seriously picky eater. I've suffered five years living with a picky eater, so I cherish every recipe I find that he approves of! (Although I admit most days he must fend for himself because I'm not catering to that kind of pickiness 24/7!)
This recipe was adapted to the crock pot, and was originally published in a Taste of Home magazine.
Doesn't "adapted to the crock pot" sound like I worked some culinary magic? Anything can be adapted to the crock pot, you just put the ingredients in it and turn it on low, then come back in 6-8 hours. :)
4-8 boneless porkchops
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup french dressing
1/2 cup bbq sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
roughly chopped sweet onion
Dump all ingredients into crock pot, can be cooked on low or high.
*For a freeze ahead meal place all raw ingredients into a freezer bag and freeze until ready to use.* (Tip: Run bag under cool water for a minute to detach the frozen food from the plastic bag so it'll plop out easily.)
You can also cook it, then freeze it and reheat later.
This tastes great over rice (which can also be cooked ahead and frozen to be reheated in the microwave), or stewed apples which, incidentally, can also be cooked and frozen!
Let me know what you think of this one!
